Blazers Stuff The Kings

----- CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard combine for 47 points as the Portland Trail Blazers dominate the Kings 102-90 Saturday night at Moda Center.

The Trail Blazers showed some toughness in their response to Friday night's 86-82 loss at Sacramento with a solid win in the second of a home and home with the Kings. CJ McCollum scored a game-high 25 points and Damian Lillard added 22 points and six assists as the Blazers used a 21-8 run in the second quarter to build a double-digit halftime lead at 52-42. Portland opened the second half on a 9-0 run pushing their lead to 21 which allowed them to cruise to an easy victory.

Sacramento (4-12) got 18 points and nine rebounds from Willie Cauley-Stein and 17 points from Zach Randolph. The Kings connected on just 38.2% of their field goals tonight, but they did get 50 points off their bench.

Portland (9-7) shot 54.3% from the floor including 10-for-21 from three-point range. The Blazers got 34 points from their bench tonight with both Meyers Leonard and Shabazz Napier each scoring 11 points. The Blazers dominated the glass tonight with a 44-36 rebounding advantage.

Next up- The Trail Blazers begin a five-game road trip Monday at the Memphis Grizzlies. Game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.

Chad's Take- The Blazers responded with a good effort after Friday night's debacle in Sacramento. The Blazers moved the ball well on offense and executed their game plan on defense. Now the Blazers head to Memphis to begin a five-game road trip. They have the talent to have a successful trip, but the big question comes down to urgency. This team has to make a commitment every night to play hard and with purpose. Until they do, we will continue to see this team hover around the .500 mark.
