Blazers Run Out Of Gas In Houston

----- Chris Paul and Eric Gordon combine for 67 points as the Houston Rockets down the Portland Trail Blazers 121-112 Wednesday night at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Damian Lillard made his return to the Trail Blazers lineup on Wednesday night in Houston, but his presence wasn't enough to slow down Chris Paul and Eric Gordon. Paul led the Rockets with 37 points and 11 assists and Gordon added 30 as the Rockets ended the Blazers three-game winning streak with a 121-112 win on Wednesday night in Houston.

Lillard led Portland (22-19) with 29 points, eight assists, and five rebounds on 9-for-16 shooting. Lillard had missed the last two games due to a sore calf muscle. CJ McCollum followed up his big night in Oklahoma City with 24 points and Evan Turner added 18 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Ed Davis led Portland's bench with a 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Aside from Paul and Gordon, Houston (29-11) had great balance on offense. Clint Capela finished with 13 points and nine boards and Tarik Black and Gerald Henderson combined for 25 points off the bench. The Rockets won the rebounding battle with a 49-40 edge on the glass including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounding.

Next up- The Trail Blazers travel to New Orleans to meet the Pelicans on Friday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.

Chad's take- Scott Foster + Chris Paul = A bad night.
