----- Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins combine for 60 points as the New Orleans Pelicans hand the Blazers their second-straight loss with a 119-113 loss Friday night at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Anthony Davis made his return from a right ankle sprain on Friday and that meant bad news for the Trail Blazers. Davis scored a game-high 36 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Pelicans topped the Blazers 119-113.
Davis had plenty of help with DeMarcus Cousins scoring a double-double 24 points, 19 rebounds, and eight assists and Jrue Holiday added 25 points and six assists. the Pelicans (21-20) shot 54.9% from the floor and outscored the Blazers 62-54 in the paint.
Damian Lillard led Portland (22-20) with 23 points and eight assists while Jusuf Nurkic added 19 points and five rebounds on 7-for-9 shooting. All five starters scored in double-figures, but the Blazers made just 12 of their season-high 42 attempts from three-point range.
Next up- The Trail Blazers will travel to Minneapolis to meet the Timberwolves on Sunday. Game is scheduled to tip off at 6:00 PM.
Chad's take- Twin Towers = Double the trouble for Portland.
