----- Damian Lillard scores 50 points in less than 30 minutes as the Portland Trail Blazers defeat the Sacramento Kings 118-100 Friday night in Sacramento, CA.
Damian Lillard joined CJ McCollum as the only Blazers player to score 50 points in less than 30 minutes, after McCollum did it just a week ago. Lillard connected on 16-for-26 from the floor including 8-for-13 from three-point range. Lillard scored 28 points in the first half and added 22 points in the third quarter. With the Blazers leading by 18 points entering the final period, Terry Stotts elected to keep Lillard on the bench.
Lillard scored 15 points during a 17-0 run in the third quarter for the Blazers to put the game away giving them a 92-74 lead entering the fourth quarter. Lillard did have some help tonight with Maurice Harkless scoring 15 points, McCollum scored 13 and Ed Davis had five points and 14 rebounds for Portland, which made 15 3-pointers.
With the win, Portland (31-25) moved into a tie with Oklahoma City for fifth in the Western Conference playoff standings and just two games behind Minnesota for fourth.
Next up- The Trail Blazers return home to meet the Jazz on Sunday evening at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:00 PM.
