The Portland Trail Blazers have finally arrived. The Blazers extended their winning streak to a six-games with a 108-100 over the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday night at Moda Center. It was the Blazers fifth-straight win over the Thunder.
With the win, Portland (37-26) has moved into third place in the Western Conference playoff standings and are now two games ahead of both the Thunder and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the loss column. The Blazers are now 13-1 in their last 14 games at Moda Center.
Tonight was a coming out party for Blazers' rookie Zach Collins. Collins scored a career-high 12 points to go along with five rebounds while making some game-winning plays in the fourth quarter. "He was huge," Lillard said of Collins. "As a rookie, to be out there in big moments like that, in such a huge game, against players of that level, he was great."
CJ McCollum led Portland with 28 points and Damian Lillard added 20 points and seven assists. The Blazers bench poured in 31 points. Evan Turner played one of his best games of the season filling in for the injured Maurice Harkless (knee) scoring 17 points and playing some inspiring defense on Paul George.
Russell Westbrook led Oklahoma City (37-28) with 30 points, but he connected on 12-of-31 from the floor. Paul George scored 21 points but missed all seven of his three-point shots. Oklahoma City has now lost eight-straight games at Moda Center.
With the win, the Blazers won the season series with the Thunder and own tie-breaker which could be huge with a very tight playoff race in the Western Conference.
NEXT UP- The Blazers will travel to Los Angeles to meet the Lakers on Monday night at Staples Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM.
