Pelicans Dominate the Trail Blazers

----- Jrue Holiday scored 33 points and dished out nine assists as the New Orleans Pelicans dominate the Trail Blazers 111-102 Tuesday night at Moda Center to take a 2-0 lead in their first round NBA Playoff series.

Jrue Holiday scored a career playoff-high 33 points as the New Orleans Pelicans take a 2-0 lead in their first round series with a 111-102 win Tuesday night at Moda Center.

The Pelicans led by as many as 11-points in the third quarter, but Maurice Harkless nailed a three-pointer with 3:20 remaining in the game to give the Blazers a 100-99 lead. The Pelicans quickly responded with a 9-0 run on threes from Nikola Mirotic, Holiday, and Rajon Rondo to put the game away.

Damian Lillard's struggles on offense continued in Game 2 as he finished the game with just 17 points on 7-for-18 shooting including just 1-for-7 from downtown. Lillard said he expected more out of himself. "Coming into the playoffs, you know teams are going to lock in and they're going to try and make the game hard for you," Lillard said Tuesday. "I give a lot of credit to them for executing their game plan, seeing two and three guys and making the game difficult. But the opportunities that I do get, I've just got to be better. I think it's as simple as that."

CJ McCollum led Portland with 22 points and Maurice Harkless made his return to the lineup after missing 10-games with a sore left knee. He finished with 11 points and five rebounds on 5-for-5 shooting.

Anthony Davis had another big night for the Pelicans with 22 points and 13 rebounds while Rondo continued to dominate the series with a near triple-double finishing with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. Mirotic added 17 points.

NEXT UP- The Trail Blazers will travel to New Orleans to meet the Pelicans in Game 3 of their first round series on Thursday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:00 PM.
