Pelicans Drill The Blazers

----- Nikola Mirotic scores 30 points as the New Orleans Pelicans place the Portland Trail Blazers on the brink of playoff elimination with a 119-102 Game 3 win Thursday night in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Pelicans continued their dominance over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night with a convincing 119-102 game 3 victory in their first round series Thursday night in New Orleans. A win on Saturday at the Smoothie King Center would give the underdog Pelicans a four-game sweep over the Blazers.

Nikola Mirotic scored a career playoff-best 30 points on 12-for-15 shooting. ''I never thought I'd score 30 or something like that,'' Mirotic said. ''I'm just trying to play simple. If I have a shot, take a shot, so I need to give credit to my teammates. ... It's just about the team. It's about winning.''

Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday continued their dominance over Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum by dominating both ends of the floor. Holiday finished with 16 points and seven assists while Rondo added 16 points and 11 assists. Anthony Davis finished with this third-straight double-double in the series adding 28 points and 11 rebounds.

The Pelicans torched the Blazers with 32 fast break points and hot shooting. New Orleans connected on 52.9% of their field goals including 11-for-27 from three-point range.

The Blazers complicated matters with unforced errors. Portland committed a season-high 24 turnovers which led to 35 points for the Pelicans. Lillard continued to struggled scoring just 20 points on 5-for-14 shooting and eight turnovers. He has 15 turnovers in the last two games of the series.

With the loss, Portland has now dropped nine-straight playoff games.

NEXT UP- The Trail Blazers will play Game 4 of their first round series Saturday against the Pelicans in New Orleans. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2:00 PM.
