No Jokic meant big problems for the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night!
Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for 57 points on 13-of-22 shooting including 10-of-17 from three-point range as the Portland Trail Blazers won their fourth-straight game 119-100 over the Denver Nuggets Tuesday night at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
The Nuggets (9-9) were without their reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic (sore wrist) and the Blazers took full advantage of the opportunity.
Portland (10-8) held a 28-2 edge in fast break points, a 42-38 edge in the paint, and scored 32 points off of 19 Nuggets' turnovers.
Lillard and McCollum had plenty of help from their teammates. Norman Powell scored 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting, Robert Covington added nine points and seven rebounds, and Anfernee Simons and Nassir Little combined for 27 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
The Blazers thrived with flawless execution on both ends of the floor. The ball movement and player movement led to 25 assists, and the communication and rotations on defense were as good as they have been on the season.
With the win, Portland improved to 9-1 at Moda Center on the season.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers play the second of a back-to-back tomorrow night at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento against the Kings. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
