Trail Blazers Explode Past Timberwolves

----- After being called out by Chauncey Billups after Sunday night's 45-point loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Trail Blazers responded by pounding the Minnesota Timberwolves 122-108 Monday night at Moda Center.

The Trail Blazers can sleep well on Tuesday night.

Jerami Grant scored a team-high 21 points and Robert Williams III finished with 19 points and nine rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 122-108 Tuesday night at Moda Center.

Portland (4-8) was coming off a 45-point home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday evening that caused Chauncey Billups to question his team's effort and tell them, "If any of you sleep well tonight, you're a loser."

His team responded with great energy and effort. Portland built a 28-17 first quarter lead and never relinquished their advantage the rest of the way.

The Trail Blazers took control of the game with a 16-5 run to close the third quarter taking a 93-74 lead into the fourth. Portland led by double-digits the rest of the way.

Deni Advija finished with 17 points, four rebounds, and five assists, Dalano Banton had 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range, and Shaedon Sharpe added 17 points and three rebounds. Seven players finished in double-figures.

The Trail Blazers connected on a season-high 18 three-pointers.

Naz Reid led Minnesota (6-5) with a game-high 28 points.

Notes- Anfernee Simons left the game in the first half with a chest injury. Coach Billups indicated that the initial testing was negative but more testing will be done tomorrow. Deandre Ayton missed the game due to an index finger injury. No word on his availability for Wednesday's game.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers play the second of a back-to-back against the Timberwolves tomorrow night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
