Deni Avdija returned to the lineup after missing a game with a quad bruise and led Portland with a triple-double, 30 points and 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was the first triple-double of Avdija's career. Toumani Camara finished with 19 points and five rebounds, Shaedon Sharpe added 18 points and six rebounds, and Scoot Henderson recorded 15 points and six assists.
Portland (27-34) to charge in the second quarter as they closed the first half on a 15-0 run to take a 12-point halftime lead.
The Trail Blazers would push their lead to as many as 18 but the Cavs closed the third with eight-straight points to cut Portland's lead to 10 heading into the fourth.
Cleveland (50-10) extended their run dating back to the third to 22-5 and trailed by just one with 8:11 to play.
Portland continued to battle and Anfernee Simmons sunk two free throws with 1.1 seconds on the clock to force overtime.
The Cavs opened the extra period on a 7-2 run but the Trail Blazers responded with five-straight points to tie the game. Simons would connect on a three-pointer to give Portland a one-point with 44 seconds remaining, but Hunger answered with a three to put the Cavs up for good.
