Deni Avdija finished with 25 points and 10 assists and Jrue Holiday added 23 points and seven rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Sacramento Kings 122-110 Sunday afternoon at Moda Center. With the win, the Trail Blazers finished the season with a record of 42-40 and secured the #8 seed in the Western Conference.
The Trail Blazers will face the Phoenix Suns Tuesday evening at Mortgage Matchup Center in the Western Conference play-in tournament. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM. The winner will be the #7 seed and face the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The loser will face the winner of the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers that will be played Wednesday night at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Portland (42-40) led by 20 at halftime, but the Kings opened the third quarter on a 17-4 run to pull within seven.
The Blazers put the game away with a 10-3 run in the fourth that pushed their lead to 16 with just over two-minutes to play.
