Blazers Lose Lillard, Fall To The Jazz

Malik Beasley scored 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting and Jordan Clarkson scored 15 of his 28 points in fourth quarter as the Utah Jazz handed the Portland Trail Blazers their second-straight loss with a 118-113 victory at Moda Center.

Damian Lillard left the game during the third quarter and did not return. According to reports, he reaggravated his right calf that has caused him to miss five-games this season. No timetable has been set for his return. The Blazers begin a four-game road trip Monday in Milwaukee against the Bucks.

The First half featured a back-and-forth affair before Utah closed on a 15-8 run taking a 58-51 halftime lead.

Utah (12-6) opened the third quarter on a 19-7 run to take their biggest lead of the game at 77-58. The Blazers responded with a 21-5 run cutting the deficit to 82-79. The Jazz scored the final five-points of the quarter extending their lead to 87-79 entering the fourth.

A pair of Anfernee Simons free throws gave the Blazers a 108-107 lead with 2:00 to play, but the Jazz closed the game on an 11-5 run to get the win. Clarkson scored eight-straight points during that stretch for Utah.

Simons scored a team-high 23 points and dished out seven assists, Josh Hart finished with 19 points and eight rebounds, and Jusuf Nurkic added 18 points and seven rebounds.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers begin a four-game road trip Monday in Milwaukee against the Bucks. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.

Chad's Take- Subpar homestand for the Blazers and now will likely be without Lillard for a while.
