Marcus Mariota & Josh Rosen Will Be Backups for the Rest of Their Careers

Tennessee Titans v Denver Broncos
Jason Smith: “The careers of Marcus Mariota and Josh Rosen as starters are OVER.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Jason Smith explain why he doesn’t think Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen are ever going to become full-time starting quarterbacks in this league again.

Mariota was recently benched in favor of former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, as Mariota has thrown just 7 touchdown passes in six games, and has the second worst QBR in the NFL.

Rosen was just benched in favor or NFL journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick during a botched career that saw the Arizona Cardinals get rid of the former first round pick after just one season to draft Kyler Murray. Rosen’s QBR is right behind Mariota’s as the worst in pro football.

Jason doesn’t see any team ever taking the bait on these guys as a starter again, saying they never displayed any dynamic bursts of superior play minus a great play here and there. Smith says what 300-yard, and four-touchdown games can we really hang our hat on with either?

Check out the audio above as Smith details why both players are at identical crossroads in their young football careers, that will certainly yield dire results.
