Spider Salley says, "Bring Lebron to La La Land"

The Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be in shambles as an organization. They have the highest salary in the league, yet likely do not have the players in place to beat the Golden State Warriors. They let go of David Griffin, the man who built a team that won an NBA championship just one year ago, Kyrie Irving has requested a trade out of Cleveland, and Lebron James, the greatest player on the planet will likely be leaving Cleveland again in 2018. Four-time NBA champion and former Los Angeles Laker, John Salley joined Travis and Chad on Rip City Drive Thursday to talk about his career and to discuss the possibility of James heading to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2018.

Salley says that if James heads to the Lakers next off season, the Lakers become instant contenders.

“Oh my God, Showtime Lakers would be back.”

Salley also says that he thinks Magic Johnson will pull out all the stops to get James to sign with the Lakers.

"Not only do I picture it, I picture Magic saying, you can wear my number too."

Salley also said that there are a lot of health benefits for James if he were to head to Los Angeles in 2018.

“His career would last longer here. His body would be in warm weather. Everything is laid back. All you’ve got to do is play basketball. It’s cool when you don’t have to worry about flying off the road into a ditch in the cold, or it’s snowing, or it’s too cold to practice or not enough people come to the game, because being here, you can almost go to the game in flip flops, as long as they’re Gucci.”

Take a listen to the great interview and be sure to stay tuned to Rip City Radio 620 for all your updates on the NBA.
