Beavers sweep Mountain Schools with 22-three pointers in two games!

Oregon State did a lot of soul searching after getting swept by their rival Oregon last weekend for the first time since the 2009-10 season. They found out that they can rebound better and they needed to get back on track from long distance.

Guess what, their hard work paid off. On the road in Boulder and Salt Lake City they dominated their opponents. They combined for 97 rebounds to 56 for Colorado and Utah. They were also 22 of 39 from three-point range. Mikayla Pivec had her 23rd career double-double in the 77-65 win over Utah. She also made a three-pointer that didn't count....from 88-feet!!

Pivec was a state champion in the Javelin at Lynnwood H.S. near Seattle and you can see that she had quite the arm! Too bad it didn't count. I talked with Mik after the team's 18th win of the season and about their big rematch against Arizona State next Friday night at Gill.

Friday's game versus the Sun Devils is a huge one for the Beavers. They have a four-game losing streak to ASU and they will be dialed in at Gill. Pregame coverage on the Beaver Sports Network begins at 7:30 with the tip at 8.
