Anthony Edwards scored a career-high 34 points and Ricky Rubio added 15 points and seven assists as the Minnesota Timberwolves topped the Portland Trail Blazers 114-112 Sunday night at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Edwards connected on 12-of-24 from the field including 6-of-14 from three-point range.

Damian Lillard led Portland (22-16) with a game-high 38 points, Gary Trent Jr. scored 21 points, and Robert Covington finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Lillard hit six three-pointers to move past J.R. Smith and J.J. Redick into 14th on the NBA's career list. Lillard is 26 behind LeBron James for 13th.

The Timberwolves were rewarded for their aggressiveness on the night finishing 29-of-39 from the free throw line. It was a season-high in attempts for Minnesota and a season-high in attempts for a Trail Blazers' opponent.

Portland trailed by just four points at 76-72 to start the fourth quarter but the Timberwolves took control of the game with a 22-12 run over the first 6:12 of the period to take control of the game.

Portland used a 19-8 run late to close within two, but Rubio hit a pair of free throws after an offensive foul on him was changed to a defensive foul following a video review.

Up Next- The Portland Trail Blazers return home for the first of two games against the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
